The most harm that marijuana does is it causes short term memory loss. And that's temporary. It's more of an annoyance than anything -- the only bad thing about the inebriation. That's hardly a serious ailment, definitely not warranting Prohibition II.
The longer this issue stagnates, the more convinced the opposition is that they're right on the verge of finding the one criminal thing about marijuana. The problem is, it's not there - zilch, zero. In comparison to the medications we give to people, marijuana is practically harmless. If there's no other medication on Earth that will alleviate my depression -- besides marijuana -- there's always Electro Convulsive Therapy. That's a brutal procedure and can cause permanent memory loss. Science is allowed to perform the technique on patients, but they're not allowed to prescribe marijuana because -- gasp, they're about to break open the darkness of marijuana and show its inner evils manifest as scientific proof. IT'S NOT THERE. Listen to me! The herb has been used for thousands of years. Is there anything else in humanity that we widely accepted as medication and as an industrial source, that we're now outlawing? Anslinger convinced the Nation that marijuana could cause insanity. That was disproven. However, some people still believe this lie, and that is what they're waiting for. They're waiting for the proof that marijuana causes insanity. They're beginning to make up scientific proof in fact, calling it "peer reviewed" when the peers are as crooked as the authority. This is clearly about money. That fact never ceased to be false. We must put an end to this great harm on our nation. Some might think this is to protect children; they're brainwashed. Marijuana poses no great risk to our posterity. Teaching your kid to ride motor bikes is a more dangerous course of action, although I don't recommend anyone under a reasonable age smoke marijuana. When that person is old enough to reason between responsibility and irresponsibility, then that is likely old enough.
